Whooping dog is a dumb way to disipline a dog but it's not unheard of.

it solves nothing. The puppy doesn't know what he did wrong...and all it teaches him is to be frightened of his owners.
There are more constructive ways of getting a dog not to pee in your house than that.

I agree. A dog doesn't understand why it is being hit so it completely defeats the purpose. It's something that bad dog owner do though.
