I know Dorsey did. Tony Barbee stepped in front of him and told Dorsey he'd have to go through him first.

...and then Dorsey was kicked off the team, right?

I mean..that is inexcusable, and is literally an assault.

Different coaches have different ways of doing things

Tarik Black had one bad practice, never started another game and was raked over the coals by most of this message board and the media and never said a bad word about anyone. He "quit on his teammates" according to some smart people on here

Yeah, I know.

It's just funny that a 17 year old (allegedly) tells his HS coach to s his d and it is a hanging offense.

Dorsey (25 years old and built like a brick sh!thouse) makes verbal threats and physical advances to his coach and people "love the intensity and competitive spirit."

But what did Cal say to him...

See Cal would challenge his players to the point of insulting them...So yeah some of them would cause a MAN to react that way. That is why Cal isn't in the NBA anymore.

Now if KJ is saying that without provocation then it is a different story now isn't it.

I agree it depends on context. I have said MUCH worse to motivate my students. They have said MUCH worse back to me.

Frustration and anger in the context of a heated practice seems totally different than attaching middle fingers to a post or saying F Tubby on a video. Joey looks like a hothead at worst, KJ looks like a spoiled brat who fights his supposed battles on facebook and snapchat.

The Dorsey comparison is silly. Cal embraced that culture. He challenged their manhood, and was open about doing so. I just can't see Penny embracing that same environment.

Fair point though they might have accused Cal of sleeping with his own mother.

So a 'real man' wants to fist fight if someone challenges their decision making, work effort, habits, etc?

Right way and wrong way to do anything...

If you don't use your blinker and change lanes how would you feel if I cursed you and everyone in your car.

You call someone a P*ssy as everyone knows he did to Earl Barron, that would be considered the wrong way just like me cursing you out for not using your blinker.

I don't like to use "real man" type labels, so without labels, I prefer someone who confronts someone they disagree with over someone who posts flipping the bird and snapchats "F Tubby" on social media.

I didn't take Penny to go that way.

I realize you're just kidding, but it's not cool.

This whole thread isn't cool. Just posting self-admitted internet rumor about a college kid.

aren't internet rumors what message boards are made for?

the Joey thing is a little different as that was in the heat of a game...emotions run high...it's a 'leave it all on the court' kinda thing.

KJ is building a body of evidence that his character and discipline are severely lacking...it's not some one-off kinda thing.

just my opinion.

Cal curses at his players insults his players and demeans his players at times to try to motivate them...At times that pisses people off and no I don't think Earl felt like he was a p*ssy and didn't appreciate it being said on national TV.

Probably insulted Dorsey and other players during his time there and it blew up...But if that is how you coach you have to understand at times that will be the reaction and be able to deal with it and not punish players for a natural reaction to an insult.

Now if you are a mild mannered coach and a player comes at you like that it is an entirely different story.
