Cal tweeted tonite that he had dinner at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse in Louisville so I assume he was at Freedom Hall watching the KY AAU thingy.

Jeff Ruby once refused to serve OJ Simpson after the not guilty verdict. He has places in Cincy and now Downtown Nashville. Good eats.

Agreed. It's been 8 years. He was never going to stay here when he could go be a "blue blood". Only an alum would...and some of those might not. Cal was a hired gun who, once he got it rolling, gave us what we asked for. I may not want Kentucky to win another championship and hope that he leaves them on probation, but I don't hate him at this point.

See that's the crap I don't abide. Is Louisville a Blue blood? Because if yes, then we could be a blue blood. All he had to do was just stay here and win championships. Which he could have done JUST as EASILY (I'll say it again for those that don't believe me or didn't hear) JUST AS EASILY as Rick Pitino can at Louisville.

And I'll go one further. Kentucky was a sh!teshow when we were up - they were down. Those are the moments when differences can be made in the collegiate landscape depending on one or two decisions. Princeton used to be an elite football power...

Cal's point all along has been about money. I'm not sure where Louisville came in, but they make about $25 million more per year than we make. Kentucky gets about $10 million more than that. He has every advantage now. We gave him a lot to fight with when he was here, but it's just easier when you have those resources.

I hated Calipari for leaving and taking our best recruiting class with him, but now I am over it and back to being a fan of his. He made Memphis relevant while he was here and for a few years thereafter. The positive about being irrelevant now is that I have more free time because I don't have to waste several hours per week watching Tigers games anymore.
