No kidding. I guess if we fire Saul, no other potential coaches will notice.

Easterwood on Saul:

"During the Hoopfest Saul tells the Hamilton Heights staff in Chattanooga that he will be visiting

Saw one of their asst.'s tonight

He still hasn't got here

They only dress 7-8 D1 guys

Coach was like the heck with that guy."

And the foolishness resides with the fans?

Could be true. The outrage and venom are ugly enough because we haven't made postseason tourneys. Imagine the venom if we actually have a losing season - or worse, it could just result in even greater apathy towards our once-proud program.

Well, you know, other potential coaches are actually hungry for success and committed
to doing their jobs.

Saw both Hamilton Heights, East St. Louis, and Monteverde play at Bartlett in the Penny Hardaway tournament, on the same night ... No Tubby, No Saul, No Esposito in sight that night ... No one ...

Think most of the team was already in NOLA. I think Pooh and KL stayed to watch East.

That could be ... East played the next night at Arlington ... I was just surprised to not see anyone there on the Friday night games, with the Tiger game being played on Sunday ...

This. Saul's pretty worthless, but pushing Tubby's son out isn't going to fix the situation.

Considering that Bowen told Keelon that he would keep his job regardless of who was hired as head coach, this would set a very dangerous precedent. Even if it forced Tubby's hand and he quit, what coach would want the job knowing that the AD was going to dictate who was on their staff?

Yep, that ship has sailed. It is unfortunate that it wasn't established on the front end. It also drips with irony when Tubby talked about the situation with having a father of players on staff when Tubby had no issue with it when he made Saul starting pg at KY even with the rumblings of the entire KY fanbase. Also considering that even Texas Tech would not allow Tubby to give Saul an assistant position. I firmly believe the number 1 reason Tubby took the Memphis job was so he could make Saul an assistant again and in his mind to allow Saul to inherit the Memphis job when he retires. I heard on the radio recently from a long time Tubby beat writer that he considers Saul a basketball savant. Amazing what parents can see in their children sometimes.

I agree - would love to lose 'daddy's boy.' Saul isn't worth his weight in someone else's old underwear w/ respect to player talent. Demote him and gain a REAL recruiter. But of course you can't because Uncle Tubby is using this program to advance his son.
