J. Geils passed away at 71-Centerfold and Freeze Frame were his group's two most successful songs.
For those of you younger, married couples used to have to merge their record album/CD collections. Out of all our albums, we only had 3 in common. Boston, of course, Rumors (Fleetwood Mac), of course, and surprisingly, Freeze Frame.
We had a discussion with our teenage son earlier this week about music. My wife was criticizing the language and topics (usually about depressed drug addicts) of his music. Then Centerfold came on and after she explained to him what a Centerfold was (I guess kids don't look at paper magazines anymore), he criticized the topic!
Of course, the singer was upset about the Centerfold, and when the page was ripped, yeah, he guessed he had to buy it. So its not like its endorsing porn or vandalism. Our son points out that his songs have a story and its often about overcoming these things. Oh, well, to each his own.
You really want to get to the meat of J. Geils band, get the tune "You got to give it to Me" and crank it up... loud. That Was J.Geils, It would move mountains. His early works were some of rocks best moments. Thank You J.Geils for doing it right. R.I.P.

First arena rock concert for me was J Geils and Ted Nugent.
