No...the discrimination is still there and AFFIRMED by NC and now the NCAA.

Again, Trans people now 'might' have the use of one restroom in the venue...But where else in Greensboro?

And where will LGBT people stay in Greensboro? Will they have to pay 10 times more than straight people because the cheaper AirBnB places won't rent to them?

boo-*******-hoo Tom. You know damned well that lgbt people live in NC and go about their daily lives without being persecuted like you try to convince us that they are. They live in NC, work in NC, and yes, go to the bathroom in NC.

Why don't you ***** about the other 30 states without laws preventing discrimination with regard to public accommodations or the other 29 without employment discrimination laws?

Because in many of those places .... we are covered by LOCAL laws. Of course the NCAA just greenlighted GOP legislatures (which are largely comprised of gerrymandered districts where LGBT people are marginalized out of a voice) to pass laws removing those existing protections.

Just like we would have been protected in Charlotte but for HB2 and HB(14)2.

Defender of "Kill the Gays" bill in Uganda just cited the NCAA in an attempt to get Texas to pass laws removing existing non-discrimination protections from Texas municipalities.

Got any source for your claims that the GOP specifically gerrymandered districts to marginalize lgbt?

Oh wait, nevermind. Of course you dont'

lgbt people aren't special. you aren't being strung up by the neck, run out of town, tossed out of restaurants and hotels, or denied employment. You don't need special protections.

North Carolina lawmakers file bill that would pull #UNC + #NCState from @theACC if #ACC boycotts the state again after #HB2 fallout. @myfox8 https://t.co/6xDhUZGFvz

I think the SEC would really like that.....

UNC has no choice but to go to the conference that wants them.

---

EDIT...it looks like if the NCAA decides to boycott NC due to its discriminatory treatment of LGBT persons....that maybe the NC GOP will force UNC and NC State to leave the NCAA (and ECU and App and UNCC and UNCW..etc.). The NCAA is an Intercollegiate Athletic Conference too!!! Great job morons...

This would be AWESOME. LOL! I'm sure ECU's largely conservative fans would just love to play in the NAIA for a season.

Remember, they don't control the NCAA or the other states. Watch for a bunch of other states to pass laws banning their teams from playing in NC in response to this. If this steaming pile of crap was ever enacted, the NCAA could force the issue so quick it would make the NC GOP's head spin. Wait until two days after the General Session ends, hold a vote to reinstate the boycott, then watch chaos develop.

Remember that NY and CA and soon to be a few other states don't have to attend events in the NC and can ban their teams from playing there.

Basically, puts the NCAA in an impossible position. It would be great if the impact of them caving to the anti-Gay bigots would be to create an even bigger headache down the road. And the only solution for the NC publics would be...to redouble their efforts to get all sorts of SJW things done so that they can stop other states from triggering the problems with the NCAA.

NC has a bill now that would "make gay marriage illegal". Not sure how this is supposed to work but whatever.

Personally this disgusts me. I'm not a fan of it but it's WAAAAAAYYY past time to let go. The guys I voted for are laser focused on a bunch of **** that does nothing to help the state right now.
