Updates from Spring Ball (?)
Awfully quiet this spring. I'm curious to hear who's doing well/who looks good so far, as well as who's not living up to expectations. Anyone have info? I saw Randy posted a few tidbits at times, however, anyone have any additional info?
I'm especially interested in Harbison, Childers, DJ Brown, Hawn, Graham, Hall (obviously!!), Huff, LeRoy (up 20 lbs), Lurry, Mister, Parchment, Robinson, Smalls, Tears, Wesley. LOL, I know that's just about all our skill-guys, however, I've heard minimal talk regarding just about everyone listed.
Randy? 7? Anyone else??

childress nice fight with corcoran
sutton smith playing well
parchmen not a factor thus far
veloz moved to OL
leroy not a word on him
hall needs to grow up
harbison number 4 back
wesley needs to hit the books
dj brown fighting for reps in the slot
tears moved to a 1 when Blake was bitching about the D playing to much cover 2 lol
Huff will be the go to on O running a new offset running attack early this spring that will put huff out in some space. the D is doing a lot more nickle then the past two years

Thanks for the update. Surprised with Parchment & Harbison. Good to hear about Smith, Brown and Tears! Hopefully Wesley figures his **** out...

I think Tears breaks out this year and Huff is going to be easily over 1,000 rushing IMO.

We certainly need a number 1 wide receiver. If no one steps up this could be a tough year

Lol. Sounds like every 18 year old. He might have just turned 18.

I have no idea what that means but I'm glad Hall is here. He has a chance to do great things for us.

Even Harnish redshirted, didn't he? And still took him a couple years to become the player he was at the end. Hopefully with just a little time, he can be really good.

First highlight I've seen of Hall in the red and black

Harnish played as a true freshman. Out of desperation as I recall.

Hall's got a funky throwing motion, but that's one strong arm.

Harnish redshirted his true freshman year. Played the following year as a redshirt freshman

Hall isn't even a true freshman at this point. He's a second semester high school senior.

You're right, and quite frankly I don't get it; and I really hope this is not a new thing (HS kids forgoing their final senior semester to enroll early). This appears to be exclusively driven by athletic development, not the good of the student athlete. I think the kid should be doing the things HS senior kids do...proms, graduations, etc. Is this kid so academically and socially advanced that he is no longer benefiting from a full 4 year high school (home) experience? All though it's only a matter of 5 or so months, I think a kid is far more ready for the independence of college life after 4 full years of HS than 3.5 years. Not a fan of this at all.

Ball appeared to have zip (surprised) quirky motion. Quirky motions don't matter until they do.

He does. His release point is low and wide. Similar to Maddie's. Not sure if they'll try to get him to get his elbow up and come over the top or not mess with what's working. Also, lefties always look a little more odd regardless.

RE: Updates from Spring Ball (?)
Hall's throwing motion is baked in at this point. Changing it would be a great way to screw up his elbow and/or shoulder so they're not going there. I say be glad for his unusual form because if he had a classic throwing motion along with his size, productivity and success at the high school level he would be at Michigan or Ohio State now rather than NIU. I don't care what his motion looks like, the kid can play.
