Does anybody know why Billy called his wing place DonDon's Jr?

I heard Jason doing a promo on the radio the other day and he was saying something to the effect that DonDon's was capitalizing on DonDon's Jr's success and he wanted to make it clear that they were not affiliated in any way. DonDon's has been around for about 20 years, if Billy didn't want anyone to take advantage of his success why did he give his spot almost the exact same name as an already established business in the same market?

And I got no dog in that fight, I'm a Mr. P's man.

What course is that?

Always wondered too. I thought maybe they were partners or Don was his father.

I don't know the full story, and the one specific to Don-Don Jr.'s; but I think it all starts with Crumpy's... twenty years ago there were Crumpy's all throughout town and the way I heard it, Crumpy, who I think is Don Crump, had tax problems...

So Crumpy's ended up having several spin-offs, like Don-Don's and I believe, Memphis's Best Wings. So I would suspect Don-Don Jr. is Donald Crump's son's version of Crumpy's. Don-Don is actually the son.

Just looked at the website. Billy Richmond's dad had the Don-Don's franchise in Raleigh and Don-Don Jr. is his own. So I guess it's just a case of "trademark" infringement that won't be pursued legally.
