The David Thompson 73 was a pretty interesting day, last day of the season and he was trying to win the scoring title. 73 put him in pretty good spot but the other guy (Erving? Gervin?) went for 60+ that night to pass him back and claim the title.

ETA: yup it was George Gervin who answered with 63 that night.

Well I'm not unbiased obviously but for example, The Oklahoma City Thunder were gearing up to be the next big dynasty. You had Durant, Westbrook, and Hardin young and ready to win multiple championships. However, Hardin went to Houston and Durant when to Golden St.

Now the Thunder are just a shadow of what they once were.
