MyBB National Signing Day is tomorrow. Any news?
Actually a signing period that goes from April 12 - May 17...

2 available schollys - maybe a guard that can shoot and a big. Someone transferring in to play immediately or a sitting-out situation? Any expectations?

Anyone know when UAB football can sign guys for summer or fall?

RE: National Signing Day is tomorrow. Any news?
Jalen Perry (6'3" 180 JUCO G) will visit some time soon. As will Joey Coffaro (preferred walk-on)

A couple of other names to throw out there:

Yanni Wetzell 6'10" 230 F/C; D2 prospect from St. Mary's College (TX)
K.J. Santos 6'8" 200 F; UIC transfer
Trace Young 6'7" 180 F; uncommitted HS prospect
Terry Nolan, Jr. 6'3" 175 G; former UTC signee
Jalen Crutcher 6'3" 170 G; former UTC signee

Wentzell's highlight tape is impressive. Was apparently a top tennis prospect before making the switch over to basketball.
Santos is also intriguing. He'd obviously have to sit 1 but he had some good offers coming out of high school. Unsure why he picked Illinois-Chicago.
I really believe Jalen Perry and Yanni Wentzell are top priorities.

Still a ton of stuff going on (coaching changes, kids asking out of LOI, etc.) It will be a crazy month.

I'd be happy with Perry and Wentzell. Wentzell's highlight tape is impressive and he looks like the type of player we need. It's hard to tell how good he is though playing against D2 competition. How many years would he have left? Would he have to sit out?

Perry and Nolan looks like the same type of player as does Santos and Young to me.

At this point any guard i would add would sit out.
Would recruit bigs and big guard/forward type like Montrell McRae whos on the JuCo list 6'9 athlete.

Great news! He was the guard I most wanted us to get. Should really help us shooting 3's.

Another guy to keep an eye on is Anderson McCoy. 5'10" JUCO PG from Ancilla College.

Somebody explain why we aren't putting an emphasis on finding a post player with size that can make a simple lay up. Hopefully, Sully is big time this season bc Cokley, Lee, and Smallwood haven't gotten better since their freshmen seasons.

I disagree that Cokley and Lee haven't gotten better.

And probably the reason is we have greater needs. We will not find anyone better than what we have already. Decent post players are being sought by everyone. And getting three good ones as we have is a rarity.

I think we'd be very happy with our post play if we had guys that could hit outside shots. Our shooters do nothing to take pressure off of our inside guys. If we're lucky, we'll get hot for a 3 or 4 minute stretch and that's it.

We need a guy who if left open is going to knock it down more times than not. Then, our post guys don't have three or four defenders collapse on them.
