Wichita and Navy aren't going anywhere. They both WANT to be here. WSU will be an excellent "anchor" school should we get poached of a quality basketball member in the future.

I'm pleased with Wichita State addition to the AAC

AAC basketball is already competitive, Wichita on board makes this league that much more now.

No more off seasons anymore, football and basketball will be fun around here.

I like it 04-cheers

RE: One of the brilliant things about the WSU addition
Marshall has turned down UCLA and has turned down $4.2 mill from Alabama.

Getting a 10-seed for going 30-4 didn't make him happy. AAC fans will soon discover that making Marshall unhappy can lead to ...well, he is emotional and he HATES to lose. If he feels he was treated unfairly he's not afraid to express those feelings...STRONGLY!

It was considered possible for Marshall to retire at WSU. Being in a one-bid league wasn't really in Marshall's plans - ever. Marshall is a perfect fit for a rather blue-collar environment with an underdog attitude and no football. There's no competition in the athletic department for who's the big dog.

Moving to the AAC pretty much solidifies Marshall's stay at WSU.

Some UConn fans are upset that a "mid major" like WSU is allowed to join their league. They have multiple national championships to back up any boasts they might make. That demands, and I give them, a lor of respect. WSU has a national CoY on board.

This WSU fan, and I believe there are more, really look forward to the day UConn can put a beatdown on the Shox. We look forward to playing teams that can earn a win over ours.

The AAC is filled with veteran coaches most of whom express themselves. I don't think Marshall's outspokenness will take anyone aback.

And one would argue, outside of Villanova, the 3 mids have generally kicked ass in the conference.

UConn fans, this conference will give UConn a fit next season and the seasons after.

American Conference is very competitive.

Winning the conference first. But it would not be a given

American has a lot of good coaches, veteran ones.

It would be really silly to leave the conference to so called "Big East"

Many UConn fans think this is a football conference not Basketball. But if American does not take Basketball seriously, why pull a full court press on Wichita? And potential Dayton or VCU.

I am a Basketball fans myself. And look around the league, majority schools are investing tens of millions on Basketball facility.
MOST OF THEM

So are we still saying that American is football driven conference? I, myself, will be first to against that vision.

"Great Football and elite Basketball" Don't laugh at me. At least this is my wishful thinking

I could hug you right now! We're not used to this kind of understanding and acceptance. The Valley was not an environment where expressive winners thrived. Generally, they weren't even welcome...

Yes, if he rants and raves it won't be newsworthy. Mick Cronin had to sit out for the better part of a year--as in not even being in the gym for games--due to doctor's orders for his aneurysm. Kevin Ollie curses like a sailor, though Tubby seems to nap during games.

Back when I was at Tulsa they used to put the band right next to the visitor bench and we would heckle coaches almost non-stop. They might have fun with Marshall if this was still the case.

Worry more about his wife, if they put visiting fans anywhere near the same block...

Fun fact: she wasn't drunk. That's just Lynn at basketball games. If anything she's the MORE competitive of the pair.

I agree. Great add for the conference. The future could be fun.
