Not sure why you guys are arguing. Travel arrangements are agreed upon by both teams prior to the start of the game. It's a conference wide rule. Such is life in college baseball

Cajun, I was at the game. The 1B straddled the base, he was at the base so it is the 1st base umps call at that point.

Anyways, your fans seem knowledgeable and friendly. Similar to the LSU fans I met at Rosenblatt a few years ago. Hope this is the start of a great rivalry!

I don't know who was saying all of that. I'm guessing it was people off this board? I think everyone on here knew we were the real deal coming in.

I was hoping there would some low-level controversy to kick off a rivalry, but not something that leads to a tie. It only makes sense for these two programs to develop a rivalry. It strengthens the perception of the conference and will make both teams better heading into post season.

True, and at least we ended their conference series winning streak while we were at it.

And both teams could've easily won both of the last two games. Y'all tried to give yesterday's away with 5 errors and then our closer had a horrible day. Today the tying runs get walked in and another scores on a wild pitch on an intentional walk after having a 5-0 lead. We need to take advantage of other teams trying to give us a gift

I understand why y'all speak like ULL is king but how can you talk about putting your money where your mouth is against a top Sun Belt team when y'all lost a series to us?

Maybe. But you guys need to act like a top program and not make low budget travel plans.

Coastal is a great addition to the top of our league but I don't think anyone but Coastal fans thought they would come in here and demolish other conference teams consistently. Their bid to the tourny is going to be much harder to get from now on.

College baseball teams fly commercially. Flight issues are a fact of life. We lost a league title once on an 8 inning game.

Perhaps you shouldn't blow 5 run leads if you don't want it to happen

I think most of us had a pretty measured expectation of conference opponents, actually. We didn't expect to blow everyone out by any means. And everyone was looking at this series as being a good fight. But yeah, we fully expect to be a top 3 team every year and winning the conference fairly consistently. And we will still make the tournament by virtue of the fact that our strength of schedule won't take a major blow in conference play. We have yet to reap the rewards in recruiting from our championship, too. So it's really not being cocky. We will likely be better more consistently than ever before.

The travel thing is squirrelly but is what it is. The truth is that we were winning but gave tth lead away. We have some pitching issues.
