I think our BB future would be brighter with Pearl as HC rather than Tubby. Pearl has the personality to sell our program and is a good recruiter and game coach. He's currently at a school that still has little interest in BB, other than filling the FB offseason. UT had a decent men's BB history and fan interest when he arrived there. I think he would do well here and would immediately get the fan base excited again.

You may be right. Pearl has been doing pretty well on the recruiting trail.

His Auburn teams have finished 13th, 13th & 11th in the conference. With a record last season of 18-14 (7-11), despite pretty good recruiting. I'm not impressed & if he gets caught cheating, he'll get the coach's death penalty. Not a candidate to "save" Memphis Tiger BB IMO. Even Lebo went 24-12 at Auburn with an NIT appearance. I would think Pearl, if he was all that, would be further along after 3 yrs.

Next season is make or break for him for sure. He's certainly assembled a ton of talent that now has some experience. If he's lost his touch as a floor coach and they make a change the cupboard will not be bare.

I'm just telling you the Grizz win no more than the Tigers. They lose as much as they win. Barely above .500 except for one year. They make the playoffs and then lose in first round. Tigers did that for years and the fan base booked and the media bashed. I like the Grizz, but lets be real.
