Who would Dedric have beaten out of the rotation on this year's Kentucky team?
Saluki I agree with 99% of your post but on this one I disagree.. I don't think he would be able to play for Cal.. He is not a good defender and everyone knows if you don't play D for Cal your butt is at the end of the bench.. I sit here and try to think of anyone he could have played in front of on this years team or last years and I just don't see where he would get much if anytime at all.. He doesn't have the motor for a Cal team IMO..

I realize there is the eye test and there are stats, but these show that Dedric is one of the best defenders in the conference. These are also the same metrics that show Dorsey and Antonio as great defenders.

His defensive rating, defensive win shares, and his defensive box plus/minus are all top 10 in the AAC.

Saluki I'd be interested to see what he did this past season playing against teams in the top 50.. The only teams in our Conference would be Cinci and SMU and maybe UCF!!

We were first discussing defense.

Are you now just saying how he performed vs. the few top caliber teams on the schedule?

OK:

n. Iowa: 35 and 11
@ UCF: 28 and 10
@ OU: 26 and 12
@ Cinci: 21 and 10
vs. South Carolina: 19 and 15
n. Providence: 19 and 9
vs. UConn: 15 and 11
vs. SMU: 14 and 6
vs: UCF: 14 and 5
@ SMU: 13 and 5
@ UConn: 13 and 7
n. UCF: 12 and 9
@ OM: 8 and 6
No I was just wondering how he did against better competition because I only watched a few games.. I haven't really cared one way or the other for a couple of years now.. Pastner ruined my interest of over 40 years and hiring Tubby sure didn't get it back!!

Saluki, got to hand it to you, that's some pretty interesting research.

And that's D1 research.

Bottom line. Both are eons better than any JUCO or transfer players we will get to replace them.

So they listened to Keith and repeated what he said?

Easterwood was on the radio at 4:40pm. Zagoria's tweet was at 4:24pm. Jonah's reply was posted at 4:30pm. #logic #timestamps

Adam called me after we went off the air

Zagoria's time stamp is 5:24 Central Standard Time. So I think I'll go with Keith on this one. What up Easterwood!!!

So, Do we know for certain that KL has to be on staff right away next season?
Is that part negotiable, maybe, depending on the school.

RE: Zagoria/Jonah weigh in on possible destinations
Easterwood says Keelon is not leveraging for a position next year. Sure seems he is. We'll see.

The obvious answers are Arky and Old Miss. Those have been discussed here for months. Those would most likely include a 3-man package deal, with soft promises for the young-uns. That would also include an appeal to the NCAA for immediate playing time, since daddy took a new job. Seems to be the horse to beat.

A blue blood could certainly come calling for Dedric - but that would likely be no-package deal. Then it's family decision time. Dedric to Kansas, KJ to Old Miss, daddy TBD?

If you could bet either Arky/Old Miss for all 3, or something else - which way would you bet?

Ole Miss for all 3 and the appeal. Or Ole Miss for just the 2 Lawsons for now. Dad joins the staff with the younger ones.

RE: Zagoria/Jonah weigh in on possible destinations
1) hopefully for both kids sake they choose different colleges

2) UK might offer but both would be bench players for UK

3) probably more likely they end up at a school like Ole Miss. detric could probably go anywhere he wants but KJ is more of an Ole Miss/UAB type player

4) If Detric decides to go to a major college he would still likely be 6-7th man. Ala Tarik Black

They may not end up at Ole Miss, but it won't be because of scholarships. Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey just transferred. Marcanvis Hymon is expected to as well.

IF Keelon takes the assistant job, then they may be able to file an appeal with the NCAA to play immediately.
