RE: Retirement
Hate to see Rev go but totally understand his desire to enjoy leisurely days.

A few points:

1) 35+% of our incoming class is people of color. I think W&M Admissions has fallen all over themselves to reach that milestone. That number is higher than UVA, VT, and most other Virginia schools. Some urban schools accept a higher percentage but that, I'm sure, has at least something to do with many minority applicants wanting to go to a school in the DC area, Norfolk, and Richmond.

2) As far as drawing the line for who is or isn't fair game to receive the wrath of our messageboard...students, but even that gets tricky. If a sophomore gets nabbed for defacing a statue, I personally have no issue with calling that student out. I also have no issue with discussing a student's bad pass, fumble, missed free throw, or poor bunt. I do have a major problem with discussing something about a student that has not been publicly announced (DUI, academic probation).

3) I'm not trying to be Big Brother when it comes to what's left on our main forum. I move things around to keep things organized and/or to minimize confrontation. The main forum is for ANYTHING related to the College. The Off Topic forum is there for stuff like the UNC scandal, politics, favorite movies, etc. That said, threads of interest to many of you (Wichita State moving to another conference and the NCAAT bracket) are left in the main forum until those threads run out of steam.

One Tribe. One Family.

Let's hope our new hire is as special as the last. Taylor was the perfect choice to clean up the mess. He quickly righted the ship and took us on an outstanding voyage.

Big changes at the College...new AD, new president.

What a fantastic article. For me it really captured exactly what TRIII meant to the students, faculty, and alumni. I had the great pleasure of being invited to a private dinner with a President Reveley as a freshman at the College. Definitely one of the highlights of my time in Williamsburg.

I really appreciate what Reveley has done to right the ship and move it forward. He's right that there is much left to do, but his contributions are substantial. I wish him well in retirement, appreciate all he has done, thank him for his service and the abundance of time he has allowed to find a worthy successor for his legacy.

I admit, originally, I had thought it to be an uninspired hire by the College, but I was definitely proven, happily, wrong. President Reveley has done an excellent job of steadying the ship and heading us in the right direction. I hope his momentum is continued by his successor.

One of W&M's finest presidents. His calm, creative leadership has placed our College in the rareified
top levels of elite public universities. An nobody can ever top his dry, self-deprecating wit!

FWIW, Jimmye's contract ends January 31, 2019.

With Shon Mitchell, no doubt, throwing for four TDs and running for two more.
