And no, I'm not saying this b/c the AAC may soon add Wichita, no, no way... but b/c AAC football TV eyeballs way above the G4's and nearest the so called p5.
My guess is that ESPN has agreed to add Wichita State at a pro-rata for the remainder of the contract. Or in other words, the AAC will not see any additional "bump" from the addition of WSU but neither will it cost us anything.
I seriously doubt that, BearcatJerry
ESPN knows the AAC is grossly underpaid... Last season's AAC football TV ratings show otherwise... Football drives the bus.. And now add Wichita State to an already to unfortunately down impressive basketball lineup, shouldn't be ignore = $$$ IMHO
You keep saying this, but...
1) The "value" in this case, is determined by the buyer.
and
2) If what you say is true, then ESPN is actually incentivized NOT to pay more for the AAC.
But keep hoping that ESPN is really an altruistic entity and will pay the AAC more...just because...
All good points... I'm just not in no way going to buy into how in the world a league with outstanding markets can be making peanuts $$$... But yet, a crappy tiny town makes more than the entire AAC, pathetic if you ask me.
This isn't a startup league, most members in the AAC have quite successful histories in football basketball baseball golf track etc. and should be rewarded for it.
Sure, most tv tv networks thought that this league was all but a dead conference, we'll guess what, it didn't go underground, so time to pay up tv networks.

In 2014, with three years remaining on the MAC contract, ESPN negotiated an early extension. The MAC received an immediate increase from 1 million a year to 8 million a year for the last 3 years of the old contract and a bump to 10 million a year during the extension years. So---if its impossible for ESPN to pay the AAC more, please tell me how that MAC contract increase happened?

Pretty new to all of this football rating talk. Anyone have a link to something regarding football ratings? I'm pretty interested to see. Does the AAC actually outperform some of its other P6 fellows?
Am I catching on how to be in this conference? to the rest of the P6.
