I'm gonna side with a guy with a .667 winning percentage over 25 years of coaching over 2 guys who clearly quit on their team down the stretch.

I'm gonna give a guy who's been to NCAA tournaments at every school he's ever coached at more than 1 season to get there here.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm #TeamTubby all the way.

I'm with you. Sometimes you just got to get rid of the cancer to move forward. Keelon Lawson is definitely a cancer.

Tubby can't recruit and that's 80% of everything these days. Tubby needs at the very least to bring in an assistant coach who can recruit and or has a top 10 player attached to stop the quick erosion of our relevance. Not just nationally but locally as well.

Tubby Smith will put the final nail in this program's coffin. Horrendous hire.

It wouldn't make a bit of difference. The man is mailing it in and here for a retirement check. He was good 20 years ago. 1998 was a long time ago.

Notice he didn't say how far ahead. He didn't say next season or even two seasons out because BAM knows they are effed for at least a couple of years.

Well Tubby technically doesnt have a contract lol.

I'm on #TeamMemphis and if Tubby can make us successful then he can be on the team. If not, then he needs to retire.

Tubby is 65;
Hasn't seen the Sweet 16 in his last 12 years;
Did not advance to the Sweet 16 at Minnesota or Texas Tech;
Tubby has not shown much recruiting fire since he's been here;
Next year's roster is awful;

If we were happy to get to the Big Dance, I might agree with you.

Our history, fan support, facilities suggest a Sweet 16 AT LEAST every 5-6 years.

Tubby is not the guy to do that.

Can you give me an example of a 64 year-old coach who hasn't been to the Sweet 16 in 12 years MAGICALLY make it to the Sweet 16? I suppose Jim Larranaga but then again Larranaga wasn't at Minnesota or Texas Tech or Memphis during his 'drought'.

Tubby's drought is 12 years long AND he's been at places where it is not out of the realm of possibility to go to a Sweet 16.

Tubby is all the things the OP stated. Which is literally THE only thing we can hang our hat on at this point...
