I'm actually rooting for Tubby. I like how he plays the game. I don't think he was dealt a very good hand with the roster situation, and its comedic that now certain people are trying to say Pastner is in his league.

Pastner's the reason Tiger basketball is in the sh!t state it's in now, should've been let go 3-4 years ago. Now, I'm not saying Tubby is the answer either, He wasn't my first choice to start with and I have my doubts he'll turn our program around, but he's not the reason we're we're in the shape we're in now. Thanks Josh.

You do have a couple good recruits coming in. Depending on how the non-con goes, you could certainly be a .500 team.

As of now we have 5 returning scholarship players, however only 3 showed up to a mandatory workout last week. Markel Crawford and Jimario Rivers didnt. Markel is likely to graduate transfer leaving us with 4 players on scholarship right now and 3 recruits. Here are the stats of the returning players

That is why we are recruiting juco guys that cant even start for their juco team. We will win less than 10 games next year unless we get an awesome grad transfer out of thin air.

Not good. When Mick was hired at UC he inherited a roster with 1 returning player and ZERO recruits. He literally had one guy on the team.

Keelon Lawson is a pretty good dude and not a bad basketball coach. 2 time state champion at Hamilton High including a perfect season in 2012(i think). Tubby didnt like being told he had to have someone on his staff and Keelon was promised an asst coaching spot by the university. They tried it for a year and it didnt work.

The only 2 national titles KU has won in the last 50 years had a recruits dad as an assistant. Danny Manning's dad was on staff in 1988 and, as I said above, Mario Chalmers pops was on staff as well.

They clearly didn't want to ever have to play against WSU. Now that we beat KU in the tournament a couple of years ago, Lawrence is a safe harbor as they would never willingly schedule a game with us.

Charlie Moore just announced he's transferring to Kansas... which means that KU will somewhat resemble the Memphis team Pastner had planned for '16.

I know. I was just pointing out that KU has done it before and that Keelon isnt a bad coach.

Word was when "coaching" under JP, Keelon couldn't run a practice. I don't have 1st hand knowledge, but remember reading it here & heard it mentioned by a couple of area HS coaches too. I suppose it was somewhat different than his HS approach. To be fair some area HS coaches didn't like Keelon's dealings to get the job & that may be the basis for that opinion.
