If I were Tubby, I'd probably be good with starting from scratch to get rid of someone like Keelon Lawson. The real "culprit" in all of this is whoever made the decision to pay the extortionist in the first place.

I do think they'll all have a hard time if they try to convince anyone the program tanked because they left, though. If two years with no post season didn't seal it, those last two games they played in sure did. Nope, they were on the court for the whole meltdown.

Keelon, by all accounts, has been a team player. He singlehandedly is responsible for securing two 4* recruits, can deliver two more, and is related to a 5*.

Yet you would rather have Tubby push Keelon off the bench in favor of Saul, the son of Tubby, who has delivered absolutely nothing in terms of bringing in talent.

A complete waste of a coveted position for the sake of nepotosm.

Gary is basically on here talking about how much of an idiot Tubby and his staff are.

I'll be at all the games next year. I'm fine being a Tiger fan without the Lawsons. Done that for most of my life anyway. Tiger bball will be back, and it'll be awesome when it happens. Now as far as lowering ticket costs, that may make some sense for a couple of years.

@Gary Parrish To recap: Memphis paid Josh Pastner $1.25 million to please take the Georgia Tech job. So he did. Then Memphis gave Tubby Smith a five-year, $15.45 million contract. And now here we are.

He's repeatedly said that it was time for Memphis to cut ties with Pastner at the end, and was very critical of Pastner the oast couple of years. He's also repeatedly said he would never have hired Tubby.

He's not pro Pastner. He's anti Tubby

I AM SO GLAD I never invested that much time or money in watching the lawsons. They are nothing like penny hardaway or other memphis players who truly played for the city of memphis and the university of memphis (memphis state) in the right way and for the right reasons.

I have been vocal for a while now that i did not like how their dad did his business. I'm glad they are gone even if it hurts us too. Even after paying up twice to keep his kids on the roster this year, they couldn't make the ncaa tourney.

Certainly could be. I think we'll find out sooner than later.

Anybody now wonder why the team tanked in the last part of the season? Maybe the lawsons had something to do with that.
