I never saw him listed on the GCU page, but the from the VC video he looks a lot better than some of the bigs we have now. Possibly means Kerwin is shown the door since we would be over the scholarship number.

Getting to know Roberts Blumbergs. Stretch 3/4.
Can shoot the 3 with ease.
Loves to rebound, especially put back offensive rebounds.
Prefers to play on perimeter and guard other 3/4

Also found this highlight reel from when the U16 team in Latvia played Russia. Team looked like it had some pretty good ballers and they also pressed really well.

Getting Blumbergs puts someone out, as GCU didn't have any open roster spots. I like the list of schools GCU staff is beating out for these 2017 recruits. Now, just gotta hope their game translates to D1 with some ease.

The most likely to get the boot in my opinion is either Kerwin or Boo, with Kerwin being the most likely because Marjele loves his three point shooting and would most likely prefer another four that can shoot outside and play inside.

8 of the 19 guys on the roster is now from a country outside of the United States, with 7 of them being scholarship guys.

I hope he averages more than 3 rpg when plays 18 minutes a game. I don't know about the points, but since he likes to play outside, he'll probably average a solid 8 or 9 a game for us.

LOL! Good one 87. Zinger city. Stars are ok but look at Siakam. He was a 2 star no one went after. Same with Braun although Braun had NMSU and GCU after him. Wilkens to me has been a bust and I can't wait till he graduates. He drives me insane.

Sorry to correct you SeattleVandals but Auburn and Seton Hall did not offer this kid. GCU was his only offer. Are you getting a degree in marketing from GCU buddy or a Bachelor's Degree in Exaggeration like so many GCU grads?05-stirthepot

Not to be all "fact checker" here, but Verbal Commits does list Auburn and Seton Hall in Blumbergs' "Closed Offers" section. Reason = "Committed Elsewhere". There is also a Scout article by Evan Daniels that says it actually came down to Creighton and GCU for him, though there is no Creighton offer listed on VC.

There is praise for the kid on Twitter coming from lots of people with blue checkmarks, so I take that as a positive. Obviously, none of us knows how his game translates to D1 competition, but there is enough reason for GCU fans to be optimistic.

I agree with you my reasonable GCU friend. I was just pointing out that it is incorrect that those schools offered him. Every fan is optimistic about a new recruit. Only time will tell if they actually pan out. Like I have given our own Frank aka Ferret Face a lot of guff about, bragging about stars and other schools going after a guy does not always translate into him actually doing well at the Div. 1 level. I watched the video and I wasn't that impressed. The Milstad kid does impress me, but not this Blumberg kid. He looks ok and I'm sure he will become a god in fantasy Havoc world.

RE: GCU lands 6'10 PF over Auburn, Seton Hall
Maybe you missed the first part of my post, Dancing. Blumbergs DID have offers from Auburn & Seton Hall, per Verbal Commits, that were closed once he committed to GCU. That's not hype or spin or Exaggeration. It's just true.

Again, my expectations for a first year player is tempered. He does, however, seem to have the most upside of any player 6'8 or taller on GCU's current roster. Time will tell.

Great so another big man who cannot shoot very well from the line. It is going to be another long season from the line.
