No denying the above. It's gotten better since football was added, but still too many folks that root for a school that wanted no part of them. Makes it harder when out bball sucks as well. People have a natural tendency to root for a winner, and UNC has had that, albeit via academic fraud.

You guys used to have a good basketball program when pornstache was your coach. Do you want Lebo?

Hell no. I want no part of a Chapel Cheat coach. Yeah, we used to be pretty good before all the conference realignment. It's been downhill since the ACC raided the Big East years ago. Lutz did a good job when he could sell playing teams in CUSA1.0. He basically gave up after he didn't get the Tenn job and we moved to the A10. His time was up. Problem is we haven't hired for crap since he left. I remember making the NCAAs seven out of 10 years and beating Top 5 teams. Now, not so much. But yeah, ya'll can keep Lebo. 04-cheers

For the ten years of C-USA v1.0, you guys were the second best program behind Cincinnati. Ahead, of Louisville, Marquette and the rest of us. I've long wondered to what level did the 49ers' warm (or not) with the A-10 move. It seemed like a no-brainer but the success was far greater in the prior league. Realignment sucks.

Realignment killed Lutz's drive which ultimately hurt the program. With the A10 we were a southern team in a northern league with teams lots of our fans had never heard of. Couple that with a terrible hire after Lutz, ANOTHER conference change, and three of our players leaving for ACC teams, and we are what we are. Maybe Price can get us back but as of now it's not looking all that promising. Our hope, and the reason we went back to CUSA,is football. Who knows what the future holds. IMO, at least you guys just have a terrible coach, we have a terrible AD and Chancellor. Nothing will change until they both retire.

Oh, come on. He's a young person. Every young person had a favorite team as a kid.

There are many young people who grew up Texas fans who played for Oklahoma. How about North Carolina fans who played for Duke.

You go to the school that gives you the best opportunity to play.

True but in that one tweet he said TAR HEELS ARE MY SCHOOL.

You have to admit, that's not an appropriate statement to tweet from a guy who wears your uniform.

And then you profess your love for the school most would believe ECU fans could, as a collective, despise. This is based upon what most UNC fans think of ECU.

ECU is playing UNC in baseball right now. Do you suppose the basketball player would actually be pulling for UNC?

The kid that is recruited to Notre Dame is the same kid that is recruited at Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State, etc...

Less drama is a good way to look at this.

Speaking of drama; Top of the 3rd, UNC forced to come up with 5 outs due to umpire blunders.

Someone isn't happy that UNC won last night.

Regardless, as an athlete for a program, you are an ambassador to your school and your program. He pulled a modern day Benedict Arnold.

This is the best. What are there, 4 things on that giant notecard? And they are all highlighted.

Any guesses what they might be?
The headline says "Goals for UNC-Greenville basketball team"
1. Return to CIT final four.
2. Recruit players who will use social media to troll UNC-Greenville's fans.
3. Schedule hip surgery mid-season
4. Beat Tulane and South Florida

Tyson needs to come correct.

Man I hope ECU someday gets to the tournament. I'm not just saying that. The true ECU fans deserve it more than the T-shirt Tar Heel fans do.

All non-front runners deserve the best. ARRRRRR

03-lmfao

Was a good game and had that catch been made, and ECU pulled out the win, it likely would've made ESPN Top 10. Oh well.

I agree. I can't for the life of me figure out why a student at one school would pull for a school he/she doe not attend. THAT school did not want you. Why support that school?

State flagships and national brands have casual fans with no connection to the school. That's just how it is. It shows the problems with being the 3rd or 4th or 5th most popular brand in a state.

Ecu football draws more fans than Uconn. Maybe 5th best is better than 1st best in Connecticut?

Being ANYTHING in North Carolina is better than anything in Connecticut, by a longshot.
