Sorry to let the conference down. We get up to around 60ish RPI, and then lose to A&M-CC and Prairie View A&M consecutively, at home. Frustrating how inconsistent we are, and that 6 of our 14 losses so far were by 1 run, and one by 2.

FIU lost in extra innings to Miss St. 9-7. FIU was up 7-5 going to the bottom of the 8th. Ugh.

I watched some of the later innings last night and saw the play at the plate where FIU scored on a wild pitch. I didn't realize college baseball had gone to instant replay though. It was a bang bang play at the plate where the FIU runner was called safe. The MSU coach came out and argued, the umpires got together (at this point with the game being in Starkville you just knew it would be overturned somehow), and then 2 of the umpires went through the first base dugout to a separate room. A few minutes later they came out and ruled the call stood.

I could be wrong (it's happened a time or two) but I believe the replay availability is a SEC thing.

Details on Herd's win over Hokies, 3-1. Freshman starter with 1.0 innings of work this year goes 4.1 innings of one run, three-hit baseball, and Reed & Ray were dynamite out of the pen.
