I don't see a thread yet. I would imagine most posters on here will be pulling for the Zags unless you have direct ties to Chapel Hill. This is a chance to put a dent in the notion that "mid-majors" can't win the title.

I am originally from Chapel Hill and I will be pulling for the Zags. UNC-CHeat should not be playing post-season games.

Can win my work bracket pool with a UNC win....Had the championship game correct with UNC winning it all, so have to pull for Tar Heels....

Well, apparently if a team is a blue blood and pays at least $18 million it can not only go dancing but win the NCAA championship after 2+ decades of academic fraud. Chapel Hill should not have even been in the Dance. The NCAA is getting its $$ though.

I would have rather any team win the Championship other than the massive cheaters in Chapel Hill.

Terrible game last night. Sloppiest NCAA title game I've ever seen played. The 2nd half was almost unwatchable. The game officials kept disrupting the flow of the game with ticky tacky fouls that should have never been called.

I'm no Zag fan, but those game officials were out to get Collins last night. And they did.

I did not watch the game, but have heard similar comments from those that did.

My response to them was that there are two rules for ref meddling in a game:

1) If one team has a large athleticism advantage, you call the game as loose as possible so they can leverage their athleticism.

2) If the two teams are roughly even, you call a heavy handed game to control the game flow and keep the margin close, so that you can then make timely calls to push the preferred opponent ahead. Hard to call favoritism at the end when you've been whistle happy all game.

Most people think that refs will make the obvious play of easily visible favoritism towards one team. That's almost never the case.

Going on what I know about the two teams, I'm not surprised by reports that #2 occurred. They were fairly evenly matched, with Gonzaga's big men being their advantage - no surprise to read that the Collins kid spent the night in foul trouble.

Zags needed some anal lube.
