Billy Hamilton steals two bases to help manufacture the go-ahead run. Bang, bang plays to end the game - strikeout and tag out before runner on 3rd scored.

Hard to remember he's 31 too. He gets another start tonight to try to get that 43.20 ERA down...

I'm in the Diamond seats...Homer is throwing BP again. His splitter, slider and curve are awful and his FB is up.

The upside is his 6 earned runs already in just 3 innings lowered his era to a svelt 29.08.

RE: Baseball Season 2017
I've never seen this before in person in pro baseball. In the 5th and 6th innings a guy from the Brewers reaches 1st as the only guy on base. Both times they told Votto they were not running up 10-1 so Votto doesn't hold them on. Guy just stands there until the guy behind him moves him to second on a single. It was that kind of game.

That. Was. Fugly. It was like the Reds forgot to show up to this game.

Messoraco looked so disinterested behind the plate he was failing to catch balls around the strike zone. He must have walked back to the wall to get a passed ball 8 times last night before we left in the bottom of the 6th. The team looked like they didn't want to be there.

Homer gave up 6 runs and it actually lowered his overall ERA.

And in a complete reversal, Feldman and relievers were outstanding tonight. Reds really played well. Strange.

Feldman has been really up and down. He's had some outstanding efforts along with quite a few clunkers. In a lot of ways, he's probably our ideal guy to flip here soon, but we are just so desperate for starting pitchers between the injuries and stalled development that it's hard to give up anyone who can give us innings.

One guy who has really impressed me though is Castillo. He's been a bit wild so far with the Reds but his control was terrific in the minors this year. He's the guy we got for Straily and if we could get somebody similar for Feldman, I've have to do it and then pray for a bunch of rainouts that we ultimately don't bother to make up....haha

For a pitching staff held together with bandaids and duct tape, it was pretty amazing to take 2/3 from both MIL and CHI as somebody said. Our lineup and bench still seem very solid and I think our bullpen would be fine if they were able to get more rest. But this starting staff right now is a disaster and I can't see the Reds rallying with them this year even though we're really not that far out in the so far VERY mediocre NL Central.

Yep, same with Benintendi. Don't forget though that the Reds didn't pass on either - they both were gone when we made our first pick at 12. Along with that I take some solace knowing that we really don't have a great place to play either one and that the HS kid we did end up taking, Tyler Stephenson, is having a really nice year at age 20 in Dayton at a key position.
