They deserved it. UConn should have never gotten to shoot the technical free throws as it wasn't even close to a technical, and Chong made a bonehead play not holding the ball until the end.

It was the right call, but man I was hoping the officials would ignore it. UConn needed to be beaten.

I really don't believe that anyone will ever approach that record win streak total ever! And I must say you guys have a real high class program and a heckuva of great coach and gentlemen! It was an exciting game.

Exactly. She went down like she was being choked with both hands and the replay showed she was only brushed unintentionally by the neck

Good for women's hoops.

Had it happened in the national title game it would have been just as iconic as a certain game in the mid-80's and I don't mean Villanova's.

Maybe they learned from Tulane, who nearly upset UConn a while back.

wow just heard this. Nova in '85 was a 8 point dog to Georgetown.... Miss St was a 20.5 point dog tonight vs UConn.

Interesting that two of the smaller schools from the P5 (UConn is close enough to count) are the ones with the best women's bball program.

Great win and though as a TN fan I have little respect for UConn, they deserve it too.

The most surprising thing about this season isn't that UConn lost, it's that they got this far without losing. The prevailing wisdom at the beginning of the year was that this was the year the Huskies were most vulnerable. They weren't ranked #1 at the start, despite their winning streak.

Last night, they showed why. They played as poorly as I've seen them play in years. They seemed to be the less disciplined team, taking bad shot after bad shot. Maybe the pressure finally got to them, but Mississippi State had a lot to do with that.

I'm sure I was only one of millions watching that game. Unfortunately for women's basketball, I will also be one of the millions who don't bother to watch the finals now that the Huskies and their streak are no longer involved.

So how bad does UConn beat South Carolina in the final?

Even though Cuse has a solid Women's team...I can't watch more than 10 mins at a time.
