The down side is it looks like the Vegas Bowl will upgrade to a P5 vs P5 affair. Where will the MW send thier champ if that happens.
Probably and if that happens the LV Bowl will likely jump the Sun Bowl in the PAC 12 pecking order. If the Sun Bowl finds itself with the possibility of not having a PAC 12 team occasionally because of the new pecking order, maybe they will transition to being the host bowl for the MWC champ vs an ACC team and then maybe UTEP gets some consideration for MWC membership. That's a reach, I know, but you gotta keep reaching.
Actually I was thinking of the ACC swapping into the Las Vegas bowl for its Sun Bowl spot if the Vegas Bowl gets priority over the Sun bowl.

Access Bowl of course!
But really, that would be a good question....but I guess we'll find out when (not if) that happens.
I think it'll come down to either a new bowl if SDSU gets a new stadium or the Arizona Bowl. Who knows, maybe even we'll tie in to a lower tier P5 bowl like Foster Farms, Cactus...possibly the Sun?

I remember that year when the ACC sent North Carolina to the Las Vegas Bowl to play the MWC. Also, Arkansas played (and lost) to UNLV in the Las Vegas Bowl around that same time.

RE: Already looks like the Stadium in Vegas is paying off
CFP Quartefinal Pool:
Rose Bowl - B1G vs. PAC in contract years
Las Vegas Bowl - G5 vs. XII/PAC/ACC in contract years
Sugar Bowl - SEC vs. XII in contract years
Orange Bowl - ACC vs. SEC/B1G/ND in contract years
Fiesta Bowl - B1G vs. XII in contract years
Holiday Bowl (at new Rams stadium) - PAC vs. XII/B1G in contract years
Peach Bowl - SEC vs. ACC in contract years
Cotton Bowl - G5 vs. ACC/SEC/PAC in contract years
With two more teams now playing an extra postseason game, this allows the Poinsettia Bowl to be replaced.

They better have a configuration for 45-55k because I doubt UNLV will ever draw more than that.
Cougar high strikes again, oh please. Like the Astrodome did anything for the coogs, flashback 35-7 on ABC in 1980, substituting Cotton for the Garden State bowl and beating up the little sisters of the poor, err Navy. Overanalyze that king!

Why would the Cotton and new LV bowls want G5 in their contracts? It would be P5 v P5.

Birmingham bowl to Vegas: PAC vs SEC (there is currently no PAC v SEC bowl game).
Vegas bowl: MWC/BYU vs AAC.

My point exactly. You're exactly right. Not the answer you thought you'd get, huh? After the first decade or two, the Astrodome was not as big a deal as it was and hurt Houston football.

I'm curious if Adelson would still be willing to do this. MLS might want to look at Vegas also.

Neither the PAC nor the SEC like to venture too far from home ... which is why there isn't a PAC v SEC game.
