Since the announcement of the Gilbert hiring I've not read/heard any communication from the new AD. Curious if any of you have heard him speak? If so, what's his game plan? 60 days into his position so wondering what direction he's taking and strategic plan he's implementing

Was told he's trying get those on deck to keep bailing while pleading with others to row the lifeboats back. Ignore the rising water and hold your breath, the spaceship Carpathia will be here any minute. Steady as she goes Captain.

His start date was approx March 1. I've heard him on radio broadcasts several times this month.

At least we let this one unpack the boxes in his office before we started screaming WHATS HIS VISION, WHATS HIS PLAN..

People started asking about vision and plan about seven months into McG and he still never gave anything that resembled one. Just vague promises and ideas. And the solid ideas he did give never got accomplished.

Hopefully that's why he's gone.

He is working and meeting significant donors. If you haven't met him, consider upping your giving and that will increase your chances of doing so.

Brian introduced him to me at the Coast signing day bash but that's the extent of it so far. Any ideas what levels he's reaching out to Rock? He can't possibly touch everyone but his vision can!

He's reaching out to significant donors. Sharing a vision doesn't pay the bills. If it did, Hammond would have succeeded with his football pregame video messages.

Do not believe my inquiry was in regards to meeting him smartass. Asking if anyone has heard his plans.

Meeting with significant donors IS THE PLAN he is currently executing. Because we are in a fiscally vulnerable state.

....like we've always been....today we're the equivalent of a democrat in budgeting strategy....

I'm sick of talking about how that should have evolved over the decades....

it's too late now unless we increase student fees approved or lobby for a legislative change mandating such....or Warren Hood $$$

I think the majority knows how that will all play out....

I see no other out on this issue....other than the flagship elite leaving moo-moo and ol' pissy to fend for themselves.....it would only be then when one would see the roaches scatter in jxn trying to salvage face

RE: AD John Gilbert
He's not going to tell you HIS PLAN. Because HIS PLAN is trying to figure out how we are going to stay in D-1 long term. But he realizes that inspires no one and he'd piss the whole fan base off if he said it. But in 2017 that's the reality of USM athletics. Try to stay in FBS football and compete well and possibly dominate C-USA. Anything more than that from our AD would just be blowing smoke. He'll make vague statements about being "positioned for realignment" but nothing too specific. Because he's not a miracle worker and he knows it.
