Poll for posting
If there is a way to make a poll using the CSNBBS app I don't know how to do it, but I'm interested in what other posters think. How about instead of quoting people, if you really want to reply to them then you just start your post with an @mention? This has two benefits:

1) You don't have to read people's post who you have on ignore but were quoted;

2) MUCH more importantly, you don't have to scroll 25 times to read about 8 posts because of quote after quote after quote. That drives me bonkers.

If you agree, post @noquotes and if you don't, quote me and make this thread a mile long.

@noquotes

I'm sick of being forced to see the one person I have blocked post 10x in a row at 2AM when I check this site every morning. What's the point of having a block function if those posts show up once someone quotes and responds to him?

While we are talking about meta, I'd also like to make a request. Can we please keep the recruiting forums strictly recruiting news and information about recruits? Leave the spin and opinions and all the other baggage in other threads.

I endorse this one.

I like the quote function but it get's a bit much with longer posts and when you pile on 3 or 4 or more posts. Most of those that involve the basketball team I don't read anyway. I don't have anyone on ignore. If you do and that's not enough for you then I don't know, just don't bother getting out of bed in the morning I guess.

Go Monarchs!

Agree with this. I sometimes (not often enough) try to winnow out parts of the quote that aren't germane to my response (someone makes five points but I'm only responding to the second one so I either highlight it or cut out everything else). But I wish they'd make it a bit easier to cut out six daisy-chained responses that get collected into your response.

That said, just tagging the person to whom you're replying only works if you're the next response. If you go away for a while and when you return, there's another 20 posts and that person has already responded to three posts in the meantime, then you sort of need the original post to make it obvious what point is stuck in your craw.

Click the icon to the right of the reply button for every post you want to quote.

This is the end result Maniac, just a complete mess of a post.

Well done good sir, well done indeed. 04-cheers

1) You don't have to read people's post who you have on ignore but were quoted;

2) MUCH more importantly, you don't have to scroll 25 times to read about 8 posts because of quote after quote after quote. That drives me bonkers.

If you agree, post @noquotes and if you don't, quote me and make this thread a mile long.

I'm sick of being forced to see the one person I have blocked post 10x in a row at 2AM when I check this site every morning. What's the point of having a block function if those posts show up once someone quotes and responds to him?

I endorse this one.

I like the quote function but it get's a bit much with longer posts and when you pile on 3 or 4 or more posts. Most of those that involve the basketball team I don't read anyway. I don't have anyone on ignore. If you do and that's not enough for you then I don't know, just don't bother getting out of bed in the morning I guess.

@mturn017 It's pretty easy actually. There's a box to check when you're making a new post to make the poll. Then you put the number of options label them make your query and poof.
