That's a pretty good classic. Best of luck to Miami and Cuse beating Princeton and Kansas.

RE: Hoophall Miami Invitational
Sounds like a great double header.

What is the significance of Kansas and Syracuse hosting the same three teams and three don't play in Miami? Simply exposure/payday for the three teams? (serious question, not being a wise guy - I don't know anything about this event, it's new to me)

"The game between Syracuse and Kansas will be the culmination of a multi-team event in which both teams will each host Oakland University, University of Toledo and Texas Southern University on their campuses."

Looks like Syracuse and Kansas got 3 decent teams to visit them and won't hurt their SOS at all. Oakland and Texas Southern are usually NCAA-type teams from their conference. Toledo is a decent MAC school.

That is a common structure for these "multi team events." For schools playing in such events (which is most P5 schools), you get to play four games and have only two count against your maximum number of regular season games. The Maui Invitational or the Preseason NIT, which are tournament formats, also fall in this category, but this format is also allowed.

Basically, this event has one marquee double header, with the rest of the games played at your home arena against lower level opponents. For Syracuse, this is similar to the event in which it played South Carolina in Brooklyn in December, and got three additional home games.
