The Indian boarding schools produced some great teams. There's still a couple of mostly Indian universities run by the Bureau of Indian Affairs:

Haskell and UNC-Pembroke are the two highest schools at the upper levels. Dine could be moving up to NAIA. Carlisle Indian closed down and was considered as a major University like Michigan at the time.
