Final Four interest
My interest in the NCAA Tournament begins to wane as the teams I follow are eliminated. None of my teams are left, but I am curious to see if Gonzaga can make it two years in a row that a non-money conference team wins the championship.

The Big East is pretty close to being a money conference as far as basketball goes. If Gonzaga wins... it will really be historic. Hope they do.

To call the Big East a non money basketball conference means you need to expand your horizons!

RE: Final Four interest
I'll stick by my statement. Spending on basketball may or may not be roughly comparable, but I figure Nebraska's overall athletic budget is several times the size of Creighton's. Granted that a lot of Nebraska's costs are from football, but there are similar overhead costs in every school (AD's salary, etc), which have to be amortized over a much smaller pool of funding in non-Power Conference schools.

Not to mention that there is a vastly greater fund for advertising and building "brand" awareness in Power Conference schools, and that brand awareness accrues benefit to all sports. Thus, with the Cornhuskers logo plastered everywhere in sight over the whole state of Nebraska, regardless of the sport, Huskers basketball benefits even if the advertising and brand building are not specific to basketball. And that huge fund of money that is available to do all those sorts of things comes to a great extent from football television contracts.

If you want to talk about football, talk about football. But if you want to talk about college basketball, at least try to be more knowledgeable than the ADG Sports Editor!

Well, I'm willing to be convinced. Is Creighton's basketball budget as large as Nebraska's basketball budget?

My guess is that those basketball budgets would be very comparable. Football generates a lot of money, but it also costs a lot of money too!
