Future of UNC basketball
I couldn't help but notice how experienced Carolina's basketball team is this year. Which means that next year, there will be a lot of minutes to fill, even if nobody leaves early (and if they win a NC, there could be a couple).

So what's in the recruiting pipeline? Checking the ESPN100 for the incoming class of 2017, the Heels have only one commitment (#24) of the top 100 players, and are only mentioned as still being in the mix for one other player on the list.

Are recruits questioning how much longer Williams will coach? Or are there some gems ESPN doesn't know about? Or grad transfers?

In addition to the two players mentioned above, the Heels do have three commitments, but they are all 3-star players. Are lean times ahead?

RE: Future of UNC basketball
It pretty simple, Roy has recruited mostly players that buy into his system & develop over a 3 to 4 years. He has missed on a couple of big time recruits for various reasons including the academic scandal. The players in this cycle outside of Jalen Felton are basically like Luke Maye in that they can play high level D1 hoops & buy into the system

Looking further at the ESPN100, the ACC in general is not well represented.

Duke, Louisville and Miami have 3 players each and Va Tech has 2. Three other ACC schools have one each - Wake Forest, Notre Dame and Florida State.

While rankings are often misleading, I would expect a top conference like the ACC to attract more than 15 of the top 100 players. Maybe we're killing it in the class of 2018 and don't want to use up all our scholarships. But I doubt it.

Have we decided that the NCAA is no longer a threat to UNC basketball? Yes, I know, it hasn't happened yet but it's merely been delayed. It can't be delayed forever. How many times can you come up with "new evidence" to justify delay? UNC wouldn't be putting this much effort into delaying it if they weren't expecting something pretty bad.

Carolina now has everything they need to sue the pants off of the NCAA. The only thing we are waiting for now is an apology.

Then what? Is a world in which the NCAA has no authority really better for UNC? Or it is carte blanche for other programs to trample you? In the style of Green...
