Those of you thinking USF will drop from last year are going to be disappointed

I don't think any of us necessarily think they will drop. They just don't have the schedule to make a bunch of wins meaningful.

The biggest game on the schedule is Illinois....at home. The preseason polls have USF hovering around 20-21. One loss with that schedule will drop them out of the top 25.

So don't lose.

If ECU wins 7 games, get Scottie Mo a contract extension fast.

I think it would be great if the bearcats beat up on the wolverines however a wolverine would make chop suwee out of a bearcat
Just saying...

Houston? They lost Herman and Ward.

RE: Who makes noise this year?
Optimism for a bowl game is practically universal here as are 7 wins. Offense bringing back a ton of skill players, 3 way fight for Starting QB (Hicks starter last year, Peavey 4* transfer from UArk, Gillis 4* transfer from UWisc.), C. Sutton, Proche, and Quinn, transfer from LSU (started several games there last year) at WR. And a bevy of running backs including 2 1000yd guys. OLine is the question, but have a lot of guys with lots of playing time from last year. Defense, well... we have to just score more than the other team every time... you know what I mean. So we should make some noise, hope it's more than a squeak. At least we miss USF this year. They should win it.

We have never won in Morgantown and I doubt very seriously this is the year we do it. We have VT at home so anything can happen but it would definitely be an upset. Our schedule starts off pretty damn brutal with our gimme game being FCS Champ JMU and then VT, WVU and USF for the first month so we most likely start out of the gate 1-3

Wow, that is interesting WVU & VT play in a kick-off game in D.C. to start the season.

As a Memphis fan, Navy is the favorite in our division until we figure out who to beat the ______, I refuse to call them names.

What about USF? The talent to get there?

.

USF has enormous talent but their non-conf slate is pretty meh. Their ceiling next year is dependent on the rest of us pulling weight. I think Memphis has a legit shot at winning conference and Navy should be solid as well. Tulsa and UH should have plenty offense but they both have some big holes to fill as well. I expect UCF and Cincy to be better than they were this year. No clue about ECU, Tulane, or UConn. SMU could be real dark horse in the west. I don't know much about Temple's situation but replacing a great coach is never easy. Certainly expect them to win more than they lose but anything beyond that would be surprising.

Pretty much, not to mention the fact USF has never won an fbs championship. On top of that I dont see how UH does better than 8-4 this we may even be a 6-6 team this year.

My expectation next year is 7 wins. However looking at the schedule even that could be difficult because for some reason we have 5 road games in conference. Maybe we'll surprise but right now I think its best to keep expectations low.
Houston only has four road games in conference - Temple,Tulsa, USF, and Tulane.

Agreed. I thought this last year after Reynolds left and they just replaced with Will Worth. Our luck they will have the next Roger Staubach waiting in the wings. Yet again.

After last year, I learned the hard way not to discount Navy's graduation losses. Henceforth, I will assume they are as good or better as last year until Navy proves otherwise on the field.

Really, who won the game this past season? Who finished higher than the other? Who has practically its entire offense returning?

None of those answers are Houston.
