I went to the first Rock The Arena last year and it was an absolute blast. Savage Arena was rocking all day and night. Gotta imagine these events are only good for the University as a whole, maybe we even gain a few new fans here and there.

I was very disappointed that Lou Gramm cancelled at the last minute, but I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome the show was. Cheap Trick bass player did a 12 string bass solo that was epic! The sound was perfect. Savage is the perfect size for a concert. I'll probably go again next year.

Not Rock the Arena, but I saw Green Day last night, so now my life is complete.

I went to it. Unlike last year's show, it was nowhere near sold out. There were maybe 4000-4200 people there. I'm sure they lost all kinds of money and highly doubt there will be a III. That's too bad. It was a great show, but I think expecting a bunch of 40-60 year olds to attend an all day event with the main act going on stage at 9:40 was wishful thinking. They would have been better off with just 4 or 5 bands and better main act.

That's strange because the first one was sold out. Had a nice crowd right from the get go all the way until the end of the night. Bret Michaels headlined that one so maybe that's why since he's a much bigger name.

His tour bus stopped at a light right outside my house and Michaels was standing in front talking to the driver. Thought my daughter was going to explode.
