P Hall Article and Legacy
There's a nice piece on Precious on the WHSV site. For once it's actually decently written, too. Got me thinking about what her legacy will be for the team as she leaves, because I think she's been more than just a scoring machine. Other players have talked about what her influence has been on them, and I think that may be important going forward.

Also, she's projected to go fairly high in the WNBA draft. Right now she ranks #8 in 3-pointers made for the year, and her point total was impressive. I saw one projection that put her at around #5 in the second round, but i think she could go higher, Remember that Jazmon Gwathmey surprised everyone by going in the first round last year.

O to P

Jaz was the second pick in the second round of the 2016 WBNA draft by the Minnesota Lynx who then traded her to San Antonio on draft day. She was the 14th overall player taken. Quite an accomplishment!!

Oops, my bad. In any case, I did watch the Stars when I could and Jaz did well. I thought she was misused by the coach who used her only for her 3 point shooting and not her playmaking ability at all. Hopefully the new coach "gets" her a little better.

Wife and I also followed Jaz whenever we could find a televised game. She played very little or at all the first half of the season but once she started to get some minutes she was able to show what she could do. Will be following her again this season.

Getting traded by the Lynx to San Antonio was probably the best thing that could have happened. With the depth the Lynx have I do not think she would have made the team. SA was in rebuilding mode so she was able to show her sills knowing there were roster spots available.

True that. And I'm sure playing down there in Oz helped her a great deal also. She sure seemed to enjoy that (I follow her on Twitter). I hope the new SA coach "gets" her a little better and uses her a little more to her advantage. She is a very good player who sees the court almost like a point guard.

RE: P Hall Article and Legacy
The 2016 WNBA draft was the same night as the WBB banquet. Someone in the background was watching the draft but no announcement came during the program. About ten minutes after everything was over, about 40 or so of us were milling around chatting with folks and watching the draft on the big screen when all of a sudden the announcement came over the television that Jaz had been drafted. Lots of hugging and screaming that evening in the Convo. I chatted with her a little bit last week at some of the WNIT games and she seems very happy.

I was hoping we could do the same thing this year for Precious but the draft is actually the week before the banquet. Hopefully we will have one more thing to celebrate at the banquet. It would be great fun to have three former JMU stars in the WNBA.

One draft mockup had Precious going to Dallas, in which case I think she might be traded elsewhere because they have Diggins. The other didn't say (and I didn't look to see who had the #5 choice), it just had her positioned. I suspect she might be trade bait, which is not surprising. I really liked one writer's characterization of her as a "creative scorer". That she certainly is!

Jaz had good size.
