Totally unrelated, people forget about the Texas team Memphis stomped in the Elite 8. That team won 31 games, tied Kansas in reg season!
Bottom line, NCAA didn’t even attempt an investigation that hit at the potential SAT wrongdoing, just leaned on “Strict liability.” Joke.
Knowing the way they operated, it’s totally plausible they just bungled the accounting. And is that enough to take a banner down anyway?
And I’m not sure why a $7,000 credit card bill would have been a big deal when Rose was about to be an instant millionaire. Who knows
Accounting error, which you can choose to believe or not, I guess. While it seems lame, he was charged properly for most of his trips…2/
I know some will also point to Reggie Rose riding on the team plane and not being charged for it. Memphis’ explanation for that was…1/
No matter what you think of that recruitment or Calipari or Memphis, I’m not sure what anybody really could have done at that point.
Think about it for a second. The testing service notified Rose, at his home, during the NCAA tournament, that his SAT score was in question.

All of this is accurate. One of the most ridiculous NCAA decisions ever, in a long line of them.Dan Wolken added,
