Apologies to Xavier!
I and many others questioned your inclusion in the field of 68 and you've defied everyone's expectations but your own. Congratulations!

Meh, anyone can win once they get in. Kudos to them. FTR, they should have been in the First Four.

RE: Apologies to Xavier!
screw them

edit: yeah, Im jelaous. I'm tired of being their little brother, which we are at this point. They are in a better conference, make more money, have a better program, get better recruits, and they don't even freaking have football.

I'd take Chris Mack in a heartbeat. Ugh, I feel dirty and ashamed.

Kudos for making this thread. I'm neither for or against Xavier, but I was wondering about all the people on here that thought they shouldn't be in the tournament. I guess they proved to the world they belonged.

RE: Apologies to Xavier!
I have nothing but respect for Xavier aka "The Flagship" from their A10 days with Temple. Mack put on a coaching clinic last year and his guys played hard as hell!

I'm amazed how much better Xavier's program has become relative to Temple's. The two are no longer in the same stratosphere. From the top down they kick Temple's ass.

I'm not sure if that was a burn or self-depracation. +2

In basketball, Xavier might as well be P5.

I've heard some talking heads during this tournament talk about the Big East as being a part of the P5. Made me wonder which conference they kicked out in hoops?

The Big East IS a "Power" Conference...just not in football. The "P5" is a football term, but the BE is more on par with media deal and access in every other sport.

I know the AAC homies don't like this, but it's true. And should a split or division ever take place between the "Power" conferences and the NCAA, you know that the BE will be among those "Power" conferences.

absolutely...Gtown, Nova, XU, etc. won't be left out of a split. The AAC will. The Big East won't.

To echo what others have said: the dynamic in basketball is a bit different than the dynamic in football, and the Big East has settled in pretty nicely as a high-major multi-bid conference on par with the Football 5. They're typically better than two or three of those conferences and a bit below two or three of those conferences.

Short version: Basketball is actually a Power 6.
