Great win Gonzaga
Gonzaga downs West Virginia and is headed to the Elite 8. I'm rooting for them to win the whole thing. Screw the P5 crap. Let's go Gonzaga!

If they win, best national title outcome since Texas Western imho.

I have to hand it to the Zags, I really thought West Virginia was to tough for them and the Bulldogs proved me wrong.

If it had happened 10 years ago. Nah, they're a big boy now. I'd have the same reaction if Butler or Xavier had won it all.

These last two games they finally caught the breaks that would typically make them go home early. They stepped up and made some clutch plays late in this one. And now they caught a break and Arizona is going home early. Let's see if they come through.

Oh and #1 seed. It shouldn't be surprising if Gonzaga wins the NCAA tournament this year, but due to conference affiliation, it will be made a big deal.

I think we have all watched the tournament for enough years to know that sometimes there are teams that catch breaks, that's the Zags this year.
Now they need to capitalize on this opportunity. Their entire side of the tournament has opened up and paved the path to the championship. Let's see if they can get it done

They deserve the breaks. I remember them losing some heartbreaking NCAA tournament games over the years. That game to UCLA when they had the guy who looked like Jim Morrison was a tough loss..

Right but at a certain point, the excuses have to cease and they have to produce. People often fall back on that argument that they play in the WCC when that has zero to do with their Tournament losses. They dominated a much worse WCC when they established themselves with 3 straight trips to the second weekend.

Oh definitely, Gonzaga doesn't get the benefit of excuses at this point. I guess all I'm saying is that maybe for the 1st time in their 20 year run of sustained success, they are getting the breaks that have been afforded to past final 4 teams.
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that they should not beat Xavier on Saturday, and considering that the best possible seed out of the east that they could face is number 4 Florida in the final 4, a reasonable person could say they don't get any excuse not to make the national championship game at this point.

I would have chosen different words when talking about breaks in the tournament. "Afforded" sounds to me like you are saying somebody was giving those breaks to Gonzaga's opponents - that is, showing favoritism. Breaks happen, and often the bad ones happen to teams that are playing "tight" for whatever reason.
I believe Gonzaga will beat Xavier in the "Battle of the Jesuits". So does Las Vegas. But I wouldn't go so far as to say that a team which beat the #2, #3 and #6 seeds in its bracket has absolutely no chance to beat the team which got there by beating the #4, #8 and #16 seeds (two of which were squeakers).
If Xavier wins, it will be because they were the better team in March, not because somebody has it in for non-power conferences or teams. And if Gonzaga loses, they will have nothing to be ashamed about. A lot of excellent teams didn't make it this far.

Gonzaga on fire from 3-point range, bombing X out of the gym.
That can happen in college hoops.

RE: Great win Gonzaga
Zags showed the heart of a champion today.
South Carolina through a big uppercut with a 16-0 run to grab the lead in the second half. Two minutes later Gonzaga had the game back in control. Most teams would have folded.
They don't make many mistakes. Will be a tough out in the title game.
