96 UC v GT Replay
Channel surfing and the 1996 UC vs Georgia Tech Sweet 16 game is on.

Fun to remember but there was no way they should have lost to Miss State the next game.

Great win, we manhandled that team.

Re Miss St: Damon Flint was 1 for 12. KILLED US

Also, Dontae Jones (?) had some ridiculous shots go in esp in the first half.

I knew the game was a lost cause when, in the second half we pulled within four and had momentum and Miss St had the ball. We played great defense and forced them to take a desperation shot as the shot clock expired...their 2guard Bullard (?) took the shot, a LONG three that banked in I believe. When that happened I got up stopped watching and said, "we aren't supposed to win this". And the long sad off season began.

I was at this game and the following game against Miss St. The worst part was the Kentucky fans that packed the arena and 99% of them openly rooting against UC. It made both games away games for UC despite being just down the road.

Don't remember it that way. Remember that UC had so many fans at that game, including me, that the place was nicknamed "the Shoe-South".

The "ess-eee-see" chants haunt me to this day.
