Hmm I wonder why

I don't know why? Monty has been able to recruit regardless of record and lack of attendance.

Could be coming in too late in the game, I doubt Monty thought he'd have to fill these extra 2-3 schollies at the beginning of the year, hard to get in early with the kids.

Loyola is in the Missouri Valley. Better league. Much better attendance and TV exposure. Even losing Creighton and Shockers, hard to outrecruit these teams with bigger budgets and better schedules. Gotta believe either Bell was scared off by two returning point guards or NIU cooled on him and let him go.

Any hope we have interest in this kid?
Charlie Moore, Mr. Basketball of Illinois for 2016, will transfer from California, the school announced Thursday. Moore, a Morgan Park graduate, averaged 12.2 points and a team-high 3.5 assists while starting all 34 games for the Bears as a freshman.
Former California coach Cuonzo Martin, who recruited Moore to Berkeley, was named Missouri’s coach on March 15.

Huskies finally having some luck on recruiting trail. 6'5 shooting guard from Australia Safir Gairgas Daow signs to play for Huskies. Coach taking my advice and going after 3pt shooters. Huskies still have one or two more scholly's open.

I've been to several Loyola basketball games over the last few years at gunpoint, horrible attendance, smalltime high school game day feel...

Teyvion Kirk of Joliet very good point guard coming out of highschool committed to Ohio. These are the level of Illinois kids NIU is having trouble getting! Gavin Block another kid who went to Ohio last year.

Daow is a Sudanese-Aussie who is at Victory Rock Prep school in Florida. Looks like that school puts out several D1 players.

I would like to take back comments I posted earlier. Monty is not taking my advice and getting 3pt shooters. Daow looks to be a project at best. Seems like he just learned Basketball. Huskies need grad transfer, juco or anybody that can play right away. if a kid is not a double digit scorer from the get go then they don't need him.its simple this program needs more scorers and 3pt shooters!

Monty doesn't care about scoring. If you play tough defense you can hog 40 minutes of playing time and put up 2 points and that's fine.

Did you read cagy's first two points? 1) Loyola is in better league, 2) better attendance and TV exposure?
Since you label Loyola as having "horrible attendance," how exactly do you describe NIU's numbers?
From NIU's website and the statistics posted there:
Home games 17
Attendance 21229
Average 1,249
and now from Loyola's website:
Home games 16
Attendance 29791
Average: 1,862

The one thing that stands out with good or better than average MAC teams is they can make the 3's. You have to treat MAC teams like they are a D2 or D3 team and that means the 3 is going to be a weapon for them.

Also, it's 2017. Even high schools know the most efficient ways to score are 3s and layups.
