Looks like he could be a solid MAC guard. Fairly low shooting % last year at 38% but that's heavily influenced by the fact that half his shots were 3s and he hit a solid 34.4% of those. He's been at or over 80% from the line each of his two years as well so he definitely seems like a shooter. Other than shooting nothing jumps out statistically. Being 6'4" 210 I would like to see a better rebounding rate but i don't know how he was being used. Seems like a solid player that will probably benefit from a redshirt season.

Does anyone know what this means in terms of scholarships? Is he paying his way next year? Is someone else? Or is someone leaving? If no one is leaving this would put us at the scholarship limit for the year after as well with Zabo and Ridenour as the only seniors and Harris and Gholston coming in. Assuming none of the underclassmen enter the draft early... Joking.

Wow, based on his numbers I figured athletically he would be closer to a Dev Manley type. Just watched some HS videos of him throwing down windmill dunks. So he can shoot and jump.

RE: 2017/18 mens basketball
He will sit out a year, be in a better program, and give KSU 2 solid years in the backcourt. Tulane was awful last year, so I am sure that had something to do with some of his %s being lower than expected.

Updated link to KSU Men's Bball roster: http://www.kentstatesports.com/roster.as...t=position

As you pointed out above, looks like 13 scholarship players before Kain Harris is added to the mix.

I think that Senderoff/staff are very smart to get 1-2 transfers per year, have them sit out, get used to the program and improve, because you can only play 10, 11 players max in a regular rotation, so the 2 remaining spots should go to transfers.

Do Whittington & Nwanko both have to sit out the upcoming season or is 1 eligible? I couldn't remember on either.

Lots of depth in the backcourt and frontcourt heading into this season, key is to find roles and settle on a rotation. Should be very interesting season, with all of the turnover @ Akron, KSU without Edwin/Hall, CMU losing a lot of talent, etc.

Nwanko can play right away. He played JUCO last year. He had a knee (I believe) injury last year but I think that's supposed to be behind him. Whittington has to sit out.

I agree with your assessment on transfers. Using spots on guys that will contribute down the road is better than burning a year of eligibility for 3 guys that can't crack the rotation.

Swap one of those HBCU's for a P-5 type and this would be a quality schedule ... still pretty good as is.

I am thinking our non conf SOS will be around 250 by the time conference tournaments roll around.

AK = Akiean Frederick?

My big off-season question is how well will Jonathan Nwankwo recover from last season's injury
