1984 Midwest Regional at the Mid-South Coliseum (From CA)
The good old days; Tigers were toying with ORU. Couldn't do that these days with the 3 pt shot-were looking ahead to Purdue who they could have beaten by 30-35 but let up at end. Joe Dean Sr one of announcers; even though an SEC guy, you would never know it when he called a game.

Played at the 11,200-seat facility that longtime Tiger basketball fans remember as creating the best home atmosphere, then-Memphis State beat Oral Roberts, 92-83, in the first round and Purdue, 66-48, in the second round.

Keith Lee (who else?) led the Tigers to their two wins. He scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against ORU and followed with a 29-point, 16-rebound performance against Purdue.

I was at the game. Keady looked like a wild man at the end. jacket had been thrown in the stands, his hair was all over and his toupee was crooked. LOL

If the NCAA had not matched us up with Phi Slamma Jamma two years in a row in S16. Those two teams would win tourney today by 20-30 in championship game depending on mercy level.

And for anyone who says better athletes, etc these days, watch this:
