As Aldous Huxley opined, it's a "Brave New World".

Poor horse or poor bat? Or is that a chair? Hard to tell on my phone.

It's a horse and time for you to upgrade from that Razor phone to something newer
Dude, it's a blackberry. Just kidding. Nah, I meant what's getting it worse the horse
Or bat (which I now realize is probably not a bat or a chair but a stick).

He seems like a good guy. Hope he does better than Watson Brown at Vandy.

RE: Mike Rhoades headed to VCU
He will. IMO, he'll be the most successful head coach to leave Rice for greener pastures probably since Mike Schuler. Todd Graham is probably #2 on the list.
There have been some others who left Rice for another assistant job before being named a head coach down the road (Schuler was a head coach at Rice who became an assistant in the NBA before becoming an NBA head coach and eventual NBA Coach of the Year). Tyrone Willingham basically was let go along with other Rice assistants in football in the Jerry Berndt debacle (so he shouldn't count), but ended up becoming head coach of Stanford, Notre Dame and Washington. But there have been other assistants who moved on their own - Craig Bohl in football and Tom Billeter in basketball for instance - who have won national titles at lower NCAA levels.
In terms of head coaches to move on their own regard, very few have been successful (Watson Brown, Fred Goldsmith, Scott Thompson, Cristy McKinney all struggled).

Rhoades from the beginning, reminded me of Schuler. Hope his replacement does better even though Suitts had some ok years and wins-I remember beating Notre Dame and Arkansas

Perhaps he was told he was not under consideration for the HC . Have no idea if he even was interested in the HC job but that could explain his departure.

As usual, John Royal is on the money.
Agree about Royal. I was going to link to this story but have kind of stayed away from the Board today. John has been very complimentary of Rhoades and the MBB program this year, but he isn't afraid to criticize when appropriate.

ACL? Is it one of these?
Cashaw just tweeted a pic of himself with Rhoades with #ACL, so must be a team thing.

That's too bad. I feel badly for Big B though. He's been here twice as a coach now and each time it was just one season. At least this time is a much better opportunity for him than the first time (when Willis was basically fired - Brent did end up going with Trent Johnson to LSU and then TCU but again both of those job locations were quick and fairly disappointing in terms of win-losses). Hopefully this will be a longer gig for he and his family - I'm sure his younger daughter who I believe will be going into high school shortly would appreciate the chance to stay at one school (and she could be a scholarship volleyball player in college one day for someone).
Brent needs to get a little more vocal on the sidelines IMO if he wants an eventual head coaching job himself. I'm not sure if he deserves sole credit, but has anyone looked at the shooting percentages of our big guys??
Corey Douglas 17-20 on the season (.850)
Andrew Drone 30-41 (.732)
Tim Harrison 16-25 (.640)
Austin Meyer 36-59 (.610)
Only MLE was under .500 but he would have been well over .500 if you take away his 3-point attempts.

ACL is something he brought from VCU. Stands for 'Aggressive, Confident, and Loose'.

Ah, thank you. Good luck to Coach Rhoades and VCU, he is a good man and a good coach.
Thanks! Same to you and Rice!
