Shhhh 03-shhhh Gonzaga and Wichita State don't know that.

Wichita State has some big boosters (Koch Brothers) and can pay their coach top money so they don't count. Even with that, Marshall gets rumored for lots of jobs and would have left earlier in his tenure there for a couple of jobs. He would be crazy to leave now though in my opinion.

Mark Few at Gonzaga is the only mid-major coach to have sustained success at a mid-major school and not leave or want to leave. Lots of things have lined up his and Gonzaga's way for that to happen.

In mid-major basketball you can have a really good team or a coach nobody wants; you can't have both.

Although technically in mid-major conferences, I don't really consider Gonzaga and Wichita St mid-major programs anymore.

Me neither. Also I'm hearing rumors that Wichita St. might be moving to the AAC as a basketball member only.

They're throwing the idea of VCU around as well for an affiliate membership. The problem is still the same there, it's a bunch of teams that national audiences could care less about until March. And even as good as the Shockers have been under Gregg Marshall, I don't believe it adds more revenue to that league nor will it bump a power 5/6 conference team out for them. It'll just take a bid away from a 2nd tier conference. Trade an A-10 bid for an extra AAC.

RE: Wade to LSU
It's a neat story but again, just a bunch of teams that on a national level nobody cares about. All that increased budget and effort to get people to care, and nobody does. They have the same battles and problems that the ETSU's of the world have, they just spend a whole hell of a lot more money than we do to have the same issues.
