I love it. We get a month of Southern Miss Football in anticipation of the 2017 Campaign. So, what do you think ? What new comers will contribute ? What about Howard ? Is he a shoe in at QB ? and is Griggs still with the team ? I saw Grigg's JC highlight film and I like what I saw.I believe the Defense will be better , the secondary will shine and I believe Freddy Hartz will contribute and fight for a starting position. Are Booth and Dantzler still on the team ? Of course my main concern is the O line . I predict n 8-4 season with an opening weekend win over Kentucky. SMTTT !

how the QB situation develops will most likely dictate the final record....hopefully, Keon is finished with being 'star struck'

8 wins is fair in 'expectation' with what we have returning coupled with this year's schedule...3 of the last 4 on the road is a bit of a pickle....@la tech won't be easy either

losing Zac is a huge ????

if Hop and corp. are smart, they'll utilize the depth at the skill positions we have returning and hammer those guys to 'teach' the incoming crew how to remain focused....

it's pretty simple when you have MORE ITO!, Staggers, and Allen....the D has enough left to handle most cusa offenses...

what's really sad???? is southernmiss.com hasn't updated the roster list as of this writing....

that's a wtf TTT moment that should be a concern in this techno era....whoever runs our website should've been fired years ago...

As far as I know Booth is still with the team, but Dantzler is not. Hartz had some type of leg injury, knee I think, and may not be healthy enough to play in the fall. Very likely he could redshirt. Griggs is with the team, and I assume he has his academics in order. Losing 3 of our top 4 safeties has to be a concern along with youth at OL.

Quite a few concerns. QB and defensive front 7 being the primaries.

I honestly don't know if all those yuge plays our opponents racked up on us last year were a result of a lack of talent, bad scheme, players being completely out of position, lack of focus, or all of the above, but that needs to be controlled. That UTSA game was one of the more ridiculous games I've ever seen.

We've been suffering from zero talent at linebacker for years. Has a lot to do with it.

I think it was a combo of poor LB and S play. Lots of bad angles and being out of position by those 2 position groups.

The UTSA game included a couple of well executed, not flagged, pick plays. CUSA refs are not exactly NFL quality. Ole Frank will do that kind of crap until called on it. He is a Bobby Bowden wanna be.

Didn't we have a kid that hurt his knee and was out last year. A RB that supposedly would have seen playing. Was his name Brooks?

Yep. Had rave reviews shortly after he got here. Now due to very bad injury (hip, I think) is no longer with the team.

Those didn't bother me nearly as much as all of the long running plays where the RB was untouched until his team celebrated with him.

Are you saying something is wrong with Franks Wilson for giving his team the best chance to win ? Pick plays are fine until they call it.

We've got a "new" LB now. Walden Davis is moving from DB. All 192lbs of him.

Yeah the jury is still out on that move. They took a linebacker (D'Saveon Patrick) and moved him to TE and moved Davis from secondary to LB.

I think we have a ton of DBs and will again be thin at LB, so hopefully it will work out. Hell, if he (or any person) can just be in the right spot and fill the voided areas it will be a strp up.
