Since 2012 the LB corps has been completely devoid of talent. Small, slow, and no instincts. Thus all these mediocre teams ripping off 80-yard runs.....UTSA and Charlotte. Freaking Charlotte, man.

I've never understood the "hard to get excited" comments that are rampant on this site. I am in no way happy about our program's situation or the conference that we are stuck in but it is just that: we're stuck here. I've been a Southern Miss fan my entire (albeit relatively short compared to some posters here) life, and I love Southern Miss football through and through. From the last down of our final game of the season, I can't stop thinking about getting back to the Rock on a Saturday next fall. I've never been a fan of basketball, so it's not a good placeholder, but baseball does a good job in the Spring.

I'm not naive. I realize that what the program used to mean to everyone here in the 70's, 80's, and 90's, but this program is far from dead and still needs the support and love of true fans (perhaps now more than every before).

however the speed of the game has evolved over time.....it's why Reggie was the 'sniz all the way to Mullens busting records left and right....even with the thumb

On defense, I feel good about the front seven. It's the safties where we I am concerned. Looks like we are having a good battle at QB, which will make both better. Booth is reporting in much bigger and doing well, battling for a starting job. Really excited about our two new offensive coaches. I think we hit home run's with our O line and WR coaches. Just might be two of the best up and coming coaches in the business.

The offensive coaching staff Hopson has put together is pretty damned impressive, all things considered.

I watched both of those games. hell I watch all of the games.

I would suggest that the linebackers, while admittedly undersized, actually ran to the wrong hole. they weren't slow to the play, they just defensed the wrong play.

agreed. we're set in the skill areas, other than the one that is most important. we don't even know who that guy is going to be.
