Yep, I agree. Brown and Semi were their two best players and along with Moore really helped foster an unselfish culture. Curious to see how MacMurray fits in given his reputation as a gunner at USF.

So broken haha. That is why he got he became 6th-7th man at Arky as a Frosh after he started at the beginning of the year. His jumper was so erratic. Could go for 17 or 2 as a freshman. Was the primary focus with Whitt in the year off was his jumper, primarily catch a shoot/shot consistency. He looks much improved as a shooter and shot is less jank, but still a little hitched. I doubt he is ever a 40% 3point shooter without crazy work, but should be a 36-38% 3 Point shooter and is an elite athlete/driver and real good defender.
As said above key for SMU this year will be big man play. We probably will take a little step back, we were 30-5 last season. But we have a loaded backcourt and Foster will play big at the 4 quite a bit, but will need some consistent play out of Agau and one of the 2 freshman bigs to compete with Cincy and WSU.
I fully expect Broome to be a real good player for Cincy. I think the only question will be how he does defensively and against big PG's. If he is y'alls best player, it would only further my belief that y'all will win the regular season crown.

RE: AAC Fans - Who does your basketball team lose/gain next year?
Whitt's jumper will not ever be confused with Ray Allen's but it has improved. Whitt is a rim attacker and that's what we need him to be. Our roster is full of shooters.

Chad is the Bearcat insider on all things bearcats
If Broome is UC's best player, this will probably be the best UC team since Steve Logan's senior year. Can't remember the last time UC had this many weapons offensively.
we just talked about this..so i thought to post this 1 minute vid..its sampson talking about the team through summer workouts
says we are drastically better at every position group but the 3, especially at the 4 and 5...
worried about losing dotsons leadership not so much his production .... even notes grays points per likely coming down despite him getting vastly better, as we wont need him to carry us

That's a totally reasonable assessment (although I think my logic has been sound). Sampson is clearly a very good coach and Houston has gotten better each year, so I don't see why they won't be better this year. Only problem as far as moving up the in conference ladder is that the AAC will be at its strongest since 2014.
Also, regarding coaching touting players...I'm sure a ton of coaches do this (and I'm not accusing Sampson of this), but Cronin has to be the king of saying dumb sh*t. I remember back in 2006 (I believe??), UC had a juco transfer named Adam Hyranciuk and Cronin said he was a stud over and over. He was utter garbage and got tossed around like a rag doll in the Big East. Then two years ago Octavius Ellis had a particularly strong exhibition game and Cronin told all the reporters that would listen that Ellis was a NBA player. Well we all saw how that turned out...

sampson has always been honest..he said our first team before te season started was for building culture/ and that they sucked after...our second team he just said we'd be more competitive but refused any tourney talks
he said the nit was a disappointment, when most coaches would have hyped it like it was accomplishment (lebo still brags about ecu's cit tourney till this day)
and if you watch the video he didnt hype up any new players..he said their is now top competition..that galen and devin essentially had no push...it was there jobs simply for being on the roster..that now everyone but gray is fighting for a job and how deep our team is

I don't think the Constitution was discussed in greater depth.
first off only about the last 7 pages are about UH....we talked about everyone else for most of the pages....literally go to page 30, they are discussing ecu basketball
secondly we have had way longer convos about the greatness of their football teams that never came to be in previous off-seasons

I really like Malik Rhodes game. It wouldn't surprise me if he becomes a star in this class. The Tigers are a team I'm keeping my eye on. Tubby has a good eye and these guys are going to play a lot harder than the squad he inherited from Josh. Memphis will be the wild card of the conference next year.

Yeah I think it will be rough early on with so many new faces but come conference play I think Memphis will be a tough out every night. I think Tubby did the right thing cleaning house and getting guys that will play hard for him.

In no world do I expect Memphis to be a push-over come conference play like USF. Tubby will have them playing tough D and guys who should buy into what he wants. Will be a tough game at Memphis for teams. That being said, I don't think he will have the horsepower power to finish much higher than 7 this year. Him cleaning house was needed though. Hope he gets it turned around soon.
