HATE THE GUY THAT LIED AND CHEATED AND LOVE THE GUY WHO WAS HONEST AND RESPECTFUL , SOUNDS RIGHT TO ME .
Sure, if it's your grandad or pastor. Sure.
But it's the corrupt world of DI CBB athletics, a multi-billion dollar industry, where winning takes precedence over everything.
All that new age mumbo jumbo is left at the door.
I DISAGREE , HONESTY, MORALS, AND INTEGRITY IN THE COACH MEANS MORE TO ME . MOST OF THESE YOUNG MEN WILL NOT PLAY BALL AFTER COLLEGE AND NEED TO LEARN THINGS THAT THEY'LL NEED IN SOCIETY THAT THEIR PARENTS WILL NOT TEACH THEM . I WANT THE TIGERS TO WIN W/O CHEATING , IF IT DOESNT MATTER TO YOU THAT'S COOL WITH ME ..........IT'S NOMB.

You better locate Doc Brown and have him set the flux capacitor to 1955 then.

Some of these posters are like the jilted lover who still fawns all over the guy that dumped her.

A couple failed NBA jobs and a run in with the NCAA at UMass. NO ONE was looking to hire him as a coach. And he was working as TV commentator.
The Memphis job put him where he is today. And without William Wesley he would not have gotten the UK job at all.
Good lord. Literally every word above is completely false.

One failed NBA job at the Nets.
He was a 76ers assistant under Larry Brown when we hired him.
Took the nets to the playoffs when they were terrible.

He did use the Memphis job to help rehab his reputation after the perceived failure with the Nets. But it's not like his name was completely mud or anything and it's not like he wouldn't have been succesful wherever else he landed if we hadn't hired him. And he'd probably be coaching Kentucky now regardless.

Pure BS. People just don't realize where our FB and BB program would be today without the $25M a year in revenue from 2006-2014. It kept everything afloat; especially FB. Due to Cal.

I get being still upset with Calipari in, say, 2011.
I simply don't get it now.

Here's my prediction for the % of fans booking hotel rooms in Memphis:
60% Kentucky fans/25% UNC fans/10% Butler fans/5% UCLA
UCLA fans do NOT travel....at all. It has been 20 years since UCLA won it all. The average 'Angeleno' does not care about UCLA basketball. In 2016, when they were pretty bad, the Bruins were 60th (wow!) in attendance at barely more than 8k/game.

Here's what everyone is missing, including Calkins and GP:
It's not about being upset and bitter because of what he did to Memphis. It's about not liking him because he is an unlikeable guy. As I've said before, he's disliked by his peers, by the media and by basketball fans at large outside of Kentucky. It's not just Memphis fans.
I've heard the comparison made with Kevin Durant, but that's a much different situation. KD is generally liked outside of OKC. Cal is NOT liked outside of Kentucky.
As Calkins said, Calipari is a scoundrel. Some evidence of that is how he handled his exit from Memphis, but there' s much more to it.
I want good things for the U of M, as I'm sure we all do, but I tend to root for people more than a team or program. Maybe I'm more of a reporter-type in that way. That said, I don't like Calipari and I don't root for him. I root for guys like Brad Stevens and Tom Izzo and Mark Few. I enjoy watching those guys succeed.

The ex is coming to town with her new husband. The new husband makes more $ and has a longer pecker but we're totally not jealous.
