Coaches who leave 1 P6 for another after 1 year
With Brad Underwood's stunning departure from Oklahoma State to Illinois less than 24 hours after the Pokes' elimination, anyone know of other hoops coaches who ditched one p6 for another after 1 year?

Tom Crean from Marquette to Indiana is a good example.

Crean was at Marquette for years before going to IU.

No, that's not a good example at all. Crean was at Marquette for a long time before bolting for Indiana. I'm still surprised it didn't work out better for IU – I really thought he was a heckuva coach. He seems like a super jerk but he is a good basketball coach...or so I thought anyway.

As for Underwood, I don't like it when coaches do things like this. It's not fair to the kids and it is just plain wrong. However, it's my understanding that he and the A.D. there were clashing pretty bad on a host of issues. I'm not sure how you could clash with your boss so badly in just one year but apparently he did.

That would be a big-time red flag to me if I were an Illinois fan or admin but who knows?

Also, I am told that some of the mega boosters at Oklahoma State aren't the easiest people in the world with whom to get along. I think the football coach there and their top booster pretty much have an open feud. That's a pretty difficult environment in which to work.

I'm not sure that is a good example.

Cheers!

Wasn't Thad Matta at Xavier for one year between the time he left Butler and the time he went to Ohio State?

Good catch, but Matta was actually at Butler for only a season - before going to Xavier and then OSU.

Todd Graham left after only one season at Pittsburgh to head to Arizona State. In a span of seven years, Graham had four different FBS head coaching jobs (Rice, Tulsa, Pittsburgh and Arizona State).

If we are talking about football, don't forget Graham leaving Pitt after 1 year for ASU.

Poor Pitt I believe had 4 different head coaches in a 12 month period.

Bobby Cremmins went from Georgia Tech to South Carolina to Georgia Tech in a span of 3 days.

What is a P6?

Oops for not reading the question correctly. Yes, using Crean as an example was not a good idea.
