Chuck's routine for a gig was drive from Wentzille to St. Louis airport. Only guitar and suit bag. Fly to destination. Rent cheapest car and drive to gig. Cash up front before playing. Play and then back to airport and then St. Louis. Promoter hired backup band and paid them. They were given songs and keys with instructions to never be louder than Chuck. He might not even speak to you, lol.

He was very distrustful of people. He barely was civil to even those who loved him and tried to help. Yeah, you have to know your place in his universe.
